Deadly knife attack west of Paris

SEE - August 23rd: French media said today that  a man armed with a knife has attacked mother and sister, killing them and seriously injuring two others, before being shot by police in Trappes, west of Paris.

BFM -TV reported that the man first sheltered in a house after attacking people with a knife and then was shot by police.

Hours later, French iterior Minister Gerard Colombo said after visiting the scene that he noted the attacker suffered from serious mental health issues although he had also been flagged for glorifying terrorism.

"The man killed his mother at her home and stabbed the other women outside. Still wielding the knife, he then ignored police warnings and was shot and killed," the minister said.

He described the man as "unstable, rather than someone who was engaged, or could respond, for example, to orders and instructions from a terrorist organization, in particular from ISIS.
