The phenomenon of cyber cafes in Egypt which motivate school students to abandon their classes is very dangerous indeed. This can never be about learning. There is no one country in Europe that has this phenomenon. Schools there do not only educate the students with scientific and social material, but also have the responsibility of building their characters.

From this perspective, schools in Austria and generally Europe are very much interested at involving different activities, which are never to be provided by a ‘cyber’.

In contrast, the cyber does not offer anything but dictating minds of its users. Cybers can never built a character, craft a scientific mind or literature talents. They can never develop a sport skill or craft a technical one.

Education in Europe, including Austria, depends on the school book, which is supervised by education authorities, no other books are allowed for circulation among students. The teaching methods, as well, should be coping with the ultimate goals of the whole process.

This prevents, on other hand, any possibility for parallel learning process, which is really dangerous for the society as both educational processes; formal and informal, will deal with the student as a target, not as an entity whose character are sought to be formed. Authorities put different plans to develop the education and improve the teaching techniques.

The cyber is doing completely different job, as it makes the student mind like a box for short-term memorizing.

I think anything which is hampering or disturbing the education process should be outlawed. Authorities should deal aggressively with those who don't comply with its regulations. This is if we want to form and develop our society in a way which is equal or close to the modern ones who work to properly build characters. Eventually, this will never happen but through strict education policies designed by authorities in cooperation with families.
