Culture Ministry Revives Al- Ayem Theater in Manial

The Ministry of Culture restored the life of Al- Ayem Theater in Manial after three-years of halt. Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, attended the start of the performances in the two halls of Al- Comedy Theater, which carry the name of the late director Mr. Al- Sayed Rady- after their development and rehabilitation .

The inauguration was attended by Ahmed Fouad, Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Southern Region, Khaled Jalal, Head of Cultural Production Affairs Sector, Ismail Mokhtar, Head of the Theater Artistic House, Dr. Adel Abdo- Head Of the Artistic House of Folklore, Adel Hassan - Director Of Al Shabab Thaeter, Ehab Fahmi Al-Comedy Theater Director and an array of playwrights and critics .

In her speech, Abdel Dayem said that the art of theater is one of the most important tools of Egypt's soft power to reflect dreams and aspirations.

It also highlights the issues facing the society to overcome them. She pointed out that the plan of Al- Ayem aims to raise awareness, develop thoughts and allow young creative people to express themselves in an appropriate way for the Egyptian families. It also plays the role of restoring the human spirit relations, defeating the negative impact of the social networking sites.

She also praised the allocation, for the first time, of a private hall for sign language translation to translate performances into sign language through screens. It was prepared in cooperation with "Asmauna Foundation" headed by Dr. Mohamed Fathy who affirmed that the foundation is studying this experience to be generalized in all theaters of the state, praising the efforts that have been made throughout the preparation of the theater and were successfully shown in the inauguration.

During the ceremony, the audience stood up and maintained a minute of silence for the departure of the artist Mahmoud El-Gendy.

Afterwards, the minister honored a number of former theater directors and the names of :- the late Said Rady and Ahmed El Sayed, Magdy Mujahid, Riad El Khouly, Medhat Youssef, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Mohamed Mahmoud, Aida Fahmy , Magdy Sobhy and Mohamed El Shafei.

Abdel Dayem also attended the spectacles of : Dihka Li Misr" written by Riham Abdel Hamid, poetry by Tarek Ali and directed by Walid Al-Shahawi. As well as "Tarnima Al-Falah Al-Fasih" - produced by the Youth Theater, poems composed by Mohammed Hamad and directed by Saeed Salman.The spectacle represented a number of the most important Egyptian comedians,

The opening ceremony included presentation of a 10 minute documentary film produced by The National Center for Theatre Music and Folklore, followed by presenting a musical concert for " Brass Sound Band" – which includes a distinguished group of students of the Academy of Arts, in addition to short live scenes of the most important works of the theater along with fireworks .
