Culture Min. Inaugurates 1st Edition Of OIC Festival

CAIRO, Feb. 4 (SEE)-Culture Min. Inaugurates 1st Edition Of OIC Festival -Five prominent figures to be honored in the first Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Festival.

Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, will inaugurate the first edition of the Artistic and Cultural Festival of the OIC on Tuesday, 6 February at the Grand Opera Theater at 5 pm.

The activities will last till 9 February and Tanzania will be the guest of honor. The festival is held in cooperation between the Ministries of Culture, Foreign Affairs, Youth, Sports and Antiquities. It aims to emphasize the noble values of Islam calling for tolerance, renunciation of violence, extremism and terrorism.

The opening ceremony will include screening a documentary film about the organization, followed by the Minister of Culture' speech.

Later 5 prominent figures in the Islamic world will be honored: Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Saudi Arabia, Shaykh al-Islamullah Shukr Pashazadeh, Caucasus Mufti of Azerbaijan, His Highness Sheikh Sultan Al- UAE ", poet Farouk Guida" Egypt ", Vofor Adjwafa Sika Kapoori First Lady in Burkina Faso.

This will be followed by presenting an artistic presentation reflecting the cultural persity of the OIC countries - with the participation of the Egyptian folklore and heritage Troupes, in addition to one of the Palestinian artistic troupe.

Before the opening ceremony, the guests will have a tour, starting at 9.30 am , to visit the Islamic Museum, the mosques of Sultan Hassan and Rifa'i.

At 5 pm, various exhibitions will be held in Opera Theater and the center of the Hanager Center to reflect the colors of the different cultures of the Islamic world, including the exhibitions of: folk arts, plastic arts, "traditional crafts", "traditional clothing" and "folkloric food".

It will be followed by the exhibitions of: the General Secretariat, other institutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Affairs, in addition to an exhibition highlighting the stages of development of the Holy Mosques and the holy places.
