Culture Min. Honors Actors of "Al-Took Wa Al- Eswera

CAIRO, Mar. 13 (SEE)- During the ceremony of honoring the stars of "Al-Took Wa Al- Eswera", Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, said that the novel "Al-Took Wa Al- Eswera" has achieved international success and has been translated to several languages.

The minister added, "After a theatrical treatment, the novel has become one of the icons in the history of art," describing the play as a creativity defying time. She expressed her happiness with "Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Award" that assured Egypt's superiority and leadership.

The ceremony was held at the National Center for Theater, Music and Folklore to honor the team work of " Al-Took Wa Al- Eswera. The book was written by Yahia El Tahir Abdullah, and directed by Nasser Abdel Moneim.

The event was organized on the occasion of choosing the play as the best show award in the 11 Edition of the Arab Theater Festival under Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Award- the first award for Egypt in the history of this festival .

The event was attended by a number of pioneers and stars of theater including Samiha Ayoub, Samira Abdul Aziz, Madiha Hamdi, Amal Ramzy, Magdy Sobhi, and the artists Yasser Sadek, Ismail Mukhtar- Head of the Artistic House of Theater- Dr. Adel Abdo - Head of the Artistic House for folklore and Theater- Ahmed Shaker Abdul Latif, Director of the National Theater, Shadi Sorour, Director of Al Taleea Theater, Sameh Mujahid, Director of Al Ghad Theater and The Director Fahmi Al Khouli.

The event included presentation by artist Ahmed Salama a photo exhibition of rare memory and publications of the National theater; followed by screening a documentary film about the development stages of the novel of "Al-Took Wa Al- Eswera" about the biography of the novel makers. Later a concert by artist Rania Omar (Flute) and Samia Suleiman and the Nubian artist Karam Murad was staged.
