Culture Min. Celebrates Centennial of Sadat at Opera House

CAIRO, Dec. 24 (SEE)- Minister of Culture Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem celebrated the birth centenary of the late President Mohammed Anwar Sadat - the hero of war and peace, in a ceremony held on the Grand Theater in the Opera House.

Abdel-Dayem said that celebrating the centennial of the late leader Anwar Al-Sadat comes as an affirmation of the state's keenness to celebrate the commemoration of its symbols, who have made the history and glory of this country, adding that such celebrations support the spirit of belonging, pride and dignity among our children and the new generations who did not witness these heroes who engraved their names in the records of history.

It is worthy of note that the celebration included screening a documentary film entitled "The Martyr of Peace,"which deals with the important stages of Anwar Sadat’s life and upbringing , followed by presenting a concert for "Alaa Abdulsalam Ensemble " which played a collection of national songs that formed the feeling and conscience of the Egyptians and Arab world.

The ceremony was attended by a number of military and police officials , as well as number of ministers, politicians, intellectuals, members of the late President's family, including Huda Sadat, Dr. Hisham Arafat, Minister of Transport, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Hesham Tawfik, Dr. Ghada Wali, Minister of Social Solidarity, Advisor Omar Marwan, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Ambassador Amr Moussa, The former Secretary General of the Arab League, Suleiman Wahdan , Undersecretary of the parliament, and Osama Haikal, The Head of the Committee of Culture, Information and Antiquities of parliament.
