Chinese media sheds light on Sisi's visit to Beijing

BEIJING, Sept 1 (SEE) - Chinese media focused on talks held on Saturday between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping during Sisi’s current visit to China.

In a report, CGTN TV channel said that the Sisi-Xi meeting tackled the importance of developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt.

Xi also said that China will continue to support the Egyptian government in its efforts to maintain stability, develop its economy and improve people's livelihood, and support Egypt in playing a greater role in international and regional affairs.

The Chinese president said China is willing to strengthen strategic communication and coordination with Egypt to serve common interests.

China regards Egypt as an important and long-term partner in building the Belt and Road Initiative and China is willing to connect the initiative with Cairo's Vision 2030, Xi added.

In another report, Xinhua news agency quoted Sisi as saying that Egypt gave a priority to the Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership, adding that Cairo is also one of the first countries to support the Belt and Road Initiative and firmly believes that this initiative will bring great opportunities to bilateral, regional and international cooperation.

It also described Sisi's visit to Beijing as "historic"

Sisi also said that Egypt highly appreciates China's stance on Middle East issues, stressing that Cairo is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in multilateral fields.
