Cairo Urges Expats to Endorse Egypt Candidate in European Elections

Cairo is exerting efforts calling all Egyptians abroad to swarm polling stations to back an Egyptian candidate running in the European Parliamentary Elections to held in the last week of this month.

Maisara Soliman, the Egyptian candidate, was contacted by Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates'Affairs  Ambassador Nabila Makram on Saturday.

"I am proud of you, as you are an honorable model of the Egyptian youth, who has managed to enter the political arena," Makram said. She called upon the Egyptian community in Austria to flock to polling stations to support Soliman, as it is a national duty.

"When we have a young man abroad who could reach such a stage in the European Parliament elections and add weight to Egypt, we must support him," Makram added.

The minister also thanked the members of the Egyptian community and the Egyptian Church in Austria, pointing out that the role of her ministry is to appeal to the Egyptian expats in Austria to support this “ambitious young Egyptian.

Soliman expressed his happiness for this support. It worth mentioning that the European elections will be held on May 26.
