The British University in Egypt marked Saturday celebrations of the Science and Knowledge Day with the participation of the BUE Head Ahmed Hamad, famous cardio thoracic surgeon Sir Magdi Yacoub and space scientist Farouk El Baz.
The event was attended also by political figures, most notably former foreign minister and former Arab League’s secretary-general Amr Mousa, Bibliotheca Alexandrina Head Moustafa El-Fiki, along with dozens of foreign ambassadors and statesmen.
“This annual event includes a graduation ceremony and holding the BUE’s semi-annual board of trustees’ meeting,” said the BUE chief Ahmed Hamad.
Hamad announced inauguration of Sciences’ Oasis at the BUE in cooperation with Al-Shorouk Academy worth 100 million EGP.
"Egyptian, American and Chinese scientists will take part in this oasis," Hamad added.
