CAIRO, Dec. 20 (SEE)- Mohamed Abul-Enein, the Honorary President of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, congratulated Japanese Emperor Akihito on his birthday.

Abul-Enein, who is also the Vice-President of the Japanese Business Council, sent his letter to Emperor Akihito and Japan’s Ambassador to Egypt Masaki Noki. Below is the transcript;

I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty Emperor Akihito, Emperor of Japan on the birthday of His Majesty, wishing health and happiness to the Emperor of Japan, his family and the Japanese people for further progress and prosperity.

Emperor Akihito is one of the few peace men in the world. Throughout his long history of success and generosity, he has been able to maintain Japan's unity, strength, progress and overcome his country's obstacles, as well as his historic and internationally recognized positions and his constant quest for international peace.

On this occasion, I express my happiness at the historic ties between the two countries, the two friendly peoples of Egypt and Japan and the diplomatic relations that extend over 150 years. The two countries have mutually cooperative relations as well as permanent agreement on visions of international issues.

In addition, the relations witnessed great progress during the last few years after the visit of President Sisi to Tokyo in 2016, which started with a new phase of cooperation in various fields including energy, automobile industry, petroleum, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries as well as joint cooperation in the establishment of the Egyptian Grand Museum and the Egyptian-Japanese Schools Project.

Lastly, I would like to extend my wishes for more cooperation between the two countries to meet the ambitions and hopes of the two friendly peoples, especially with Egypt's presidency of the African Union 2019 and Japan's invitation to Egypt to attend the G20 summit in Osaka next June.

Please accept my sincere greetings and appreciation.

May God save the Emperor of Japan .. Happy Birthday.
