25th International Scientific Conference Kicks off

25th International Scientific Conference, entitled ” Media Industry in Light of Opportunities and Challenges in Technology and Investment”, was launched. The event was attended by a group of researchers from Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, UAE and Saudi Arabia. It witnessed the participation of more than 70 scientific research and working paper.

Dr. Heba El-Samri, Dean of the Faculty of Information, Cairo University, explained that the college is celebrating this year silver jubilee of the International Scientific Conference.

Al-Samri referred that the press professionalism has slumped over the last 20 years, which threatens its future due to its lack of standards of accuracy and professionalism and the decline in journalists' performance .

Meanwhile, technology has led to some negative results, including news fabrication, inaccuracy and dissemination of rumors affecting society.

El-Samri reported that this year’s conference includes lectures on the latest trends in the field of teaching media and information technology, by hosting two speakers Dr. Pam Kardin professor at the University of Iowa and Dr. Peterhurvik professor at University, Denmark.

She stressed that both technology and media industry need professionalism and objectivity. A professional journalist is capable of producing professional media using digital technology.
