Cairo – September 11 (SEE): As part of Egypt’s economic reform program, the United States signed a $13.8 million agreement today to help build the capacity of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and its subsidiary companies.

An official statement released by the US embassy in Cairo explained that this agreement comes in support of the Government of Egypt’s strategic vision to reform water and wastewater utilities.

According to the agreement, USAID will provide technical assistance with a focus on operational efficiency and quality of service,” said U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director to Egypt Sherry F. Carlin. “This will help HCWW and its subsidiaries reach self-sufficiency and ensure the continuation of services vital for the health and well-being of Egyptian families.”
