Those who were present during the opening ceremony were: Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Majid Negm, president of Helwan University, and Dr. Sayed Qandil, Acting Dean.
The College is the first art school in the Arab region established by Prince Yousuf Kamal Public 1908.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar, said "Egypt has a gene of art not existing in the world, and God gave our students the instinct of art, the pool of professors in the Faculty of Fine Arts, and talented students".
The minister confirmed, while speaking at the ceremony, that studying in a college of Arts is so interesting and teaching in it is attractive to any member among its teaching staff; this marks the period from creativity and excellence for every art lover who joins the College ".
He added: " Everyone knows the history of this faculty which has been creating chances for creators and artists; It has run for 110 years old and has a history of experts who have contributed significantly to the production and education of a creative society in all areas of art "graphic, photography or decoration ".
On his part, Dr. Majid Negm, president of Helwan University said, "We are proud of the university, hence we celebrate 110 years of creativity; we are waiting for another 10 years to celebrate another event ".
Dr. Negm explained that the college is an old edifice that provided artists and creators to Egypt, the Middle East and the Arab region. Although there are many faculties of fine arts in the whole Arab country, this college is the mother of all kinds of arts.
He also pointed out that there are many artists and creators who graduated in this college, including the great artist Mahmoud Mukhtar, Yusuf Pasha Kamal and many others.
In a related context, Dr. Sayed Kandil, acting Dean of the College, said that the basis of the Faculty of Fine Arts is its professors; their values or virtues and their efforts formed the nucleus of the establishment of the Faculty of Fine Arts, in Helwan University .
Dr. Kandil pointed out that Egypt knew the meaning of an Egyptian Architecture art movement after the idea of Prince Yusuf Kamal who advocated for it. Kamal was the patron of the royal movement in the royal family. Cairo was the first city to market its works. The first field was formed in Egypt and was the only one - then - by the artist Mahmoud Khalil Mokhtar, the square of Ibrahim Pasha, who ordered the construction of his statue of his grandson Khepe Ismail in his memory, and that was the beginning, until a formal subscription was made by the contribution of the sects and state institutions, Then the construction of museums begun.
He explained that the first Egyptian building was represented in the Supreme Court and the Egyptian television building, after the European architecture that existed in Egypt before that, and the Egyptian museums were established by Egyptian artist's graduates of the Department of Photography.
The dean added that the college was established in 1908 in 3 sections namely: photography, architecture and sculpture, and in 1930 established the decoration section, and the section of ink and printing, which bore the name: the graphic .
On the other hand, Dr. Yasser Saqr, the former president of Helwan University, said in special statements to SEE, "The Faculty of Fine Arts is our home and it was the pioneer of the artistic and architectural movement in Egypt. We wish it success and always from generation to generation, we will handle the flag to future generations as we received the banner from previous generations. We wish them every success and leadership in the plastic and architectural arts in Egypt."
It is worthy of note that Dr. Ashraf, agent College Arts the beautiful University Helwan For Community Service and Environment Development, build up the college and named in School of Arts, the beauty of Egypt in 1908, until it was transferred between 1923-1924 from its place 'Baderb' the Jammames to Mrs Zaynab square in 1927.
He noted that in 1928, it became a high school holding the name "School Arts Supreme" then its name was changed to High School of Arts. Students were not accepted to join it except when they have studied successfully in a "Preparatory School".
He added in 1936-1937, for students to graduate from the faculty they had to study in it for five years. After the school system was canceled, the admission section of the school for students with a secondary school certificate was approved after passing a rigorous examination to test staff abilities.
Dr. Ashraf added that a villa was selected for the school in the neighborhood Shoubra Public in 1927 and then it was moved in August 1931 to 91 Street Giza, In September 1935, it was transferred to present Street Ismail Mohammed number 8 On the island Zamalek In Cairo. After the revolution of July 23 1952 its name was changed to college of Beautiful Arts and was incorporated to the Ministry Education Higher Year in 1961. After that it was incorporated to the University of Helwan in a October 1975.
In a related context, the college was presented with a theater by Atelier to portray artistic presentations about students' life inside the college during the celebration, which made the minister Education High And Scientific Research, to name Atelier Stage College Beautiful Arts.
