10th edition of Cairo Jazz Festival to begin in October

Cairo, Aug 26 (SEE) - More than 90 artists from 14 various countries will participate in the 10th edition of the Cairo Jazz Festival which will take place at the stage of the American University here in New Cairo district, slated for October 11 to 14.

The festival will include different 17 music concerts from 14 countries. Artists from Poland, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Portugal, Syria, Jordan, Japan, and Luxembourg as well as Finland will take part in these concerts.

Composer and talent pianist Amr Salah, the president of the festival, said that the festival aims to present an international musical event, which contributes to promoting tourism by hosting international stars here, increase the Egyptians' awareness of music, especially jazz music.

The 10th edition will witness partaking of different jazz artists such as Syria's Lynn Adib, Portugal's Rita Maria, Austria's David Helbock, Czech's Dan Bárta, Hungarian Diva Eszter Váczi, Aki Rissanen Band of Finland and Luxembourg's Jerome Klein band as well as the participation of Egyptian and Jordanian bands.
