10,000 Book Fair’s Awards to Best Writers in 2018..Senegal Guest of Honour Next Round

CAIRO, Feb 5 (SEE)-The Egyptian book fair celebrated its golden jubilee by declaring the annual contest winners’ names.

Awards were handed out by both Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem and President of the General Egyptian Book Authority Haitham el-Haj Ali.

Overall award is worth LE 10,000, in addition to the golden jubilee shield and a certificate of appreciation for each contest’s branch.

List of winners includes, Ahmed Al-Qarmalawi who won for his novel “Last Call for Passengers", issued by the Egyptian Lebanese publishing House.

For short story category, Mahmoud Ahmed Abdo won for his group "Feremelion" issued by Dar Al-Shorouk, and in slang poetry category, Bahi Al-Din Muhammad Abdel-Seif won for his pan "Despite I Can Joy”, published by the General Authority for Books.

On his part, Mahmoud Sebak won in classical poetry category for his pan "An Attempt to Reclaim The World" that is issued by the General Authority for Books.

In art category, "Muhammad Khan's Letters to Said Shimi" book written by the Producer Saeed Shimi and issued by Dar Al-Karma, was the winner.

In child category, the winner was children's poetic group entitled “We Have a Right” which affiliated to Zine El Abidine Fouad and issued by the General Authority for Books.

Dr. Hamdi Suleiman won in human sciences category for his book "The Black Lord Oasis .. The Culture of Production in a Desert Society", issued by the General Authority for Culture Palaces.

In the scientific book category, Dr. Lutfi Al-Sherbini won for his book "Stigma and the Suffering of Mental Patient" published by House of Knowledge and Faith, and for digital sciences category, the award was banned.

In literary criticism category, Dr. Rida Attia won for her book "Alienation in the Poetry of Saadi Yusuf", and in theater category, the winner was the Artist Mohamed Baghdadi for his book "Long Live People of My Country", issued by the General Authority for books.

Finally, in category of heritage, "The Explicit Statement in Science of Legislation" book written by Walid Mubarak and issued by the National Library and Documents, was the winner.

For Preference Awards, Best book award went to the Researcher Iman Al-Awadhi for her book "Liberal Thought in Egypt", and the best translated book award was handed out to the Translator Ola Adel for her book "Abductions .. Testimonies of Boko Haram Girls", which is mainly written by Wolfgang Bauer.

Furthermore, The best child translated book was "Yaba Yaga .. Russian folk tales" which was translated by Rola Rashwan.

The best publisher award was for Dar Rawabet for Publishing and Information Technology, while the prize of the best literary was veiled.

By the end of celebration, Dr. Haitham announced that Senegal will be guest of honor for the next book fair round, starting from January 24th till February 4th, 2020.

This was rejected by minister of culture who hoped extending the exhibition duration next year after current round achieved an overwhelming success in the Egyptian International Exhibition and Conference Center in the fifth settlement
